New Year's Eve is less than a week away! If you're planning to celebrate in Key West, then you're sure to have a great time. There are lots of exciting events taking place! Pick your favorite and get ready to party your way into 2023!
Pirate Wench Drop
Schooner Wharf Bar will continue their traditional Pirate Wench Drop. This event will feature a DJ, excellent drinks, and great company. In the minutes leading up to 2023, the entire bar will erupt, singing Auld Lang Syne in unison. When the clock strikes midnight, Evalena Worthington, the bar's resident tavern wench, will drop along the mast of the tall ship America 2.0, marking the arrival of the new year. Cannon blasts will sound and the crowd will go wild. The party continues until 4 AM, so make sure you're caffeinated. Bring comfy shoes and dance the night away!
Schooner Wharf has complimentary hats, party favors and horns to help everyone to feel festive while enjoying holiday drink specials and live music throughout the day and night.
High Heel Drop
At Bourbon Street Pub, the most popular LGBTQ bar in Key West, the New Year's tradition is to drop dazzling drag queens in a giant, 6-foot, red high heel shoe! Attendees of this extravagant event will enjoy a night full of awesome music and amazing drinks. Welcome 2023 by dancing alongside of the bar's go-go boys and drag queens. This year, they're celebrating the 25th anniversary of the "Red Shoe Drop," so you know the party will be bigger and better than ever.
Conch Shell Drop
The world famous bar Sloppy Joe's will continue their annual conch shell drop this year. Live music will kick off at noon with Ross Brown, followed by Gerd Rube at 5:30PM, and The Way Outs at 10PM. DJ Sanaris will carry guests into the New Year with a set on the roof. Spend the day sipping beers or a cocktail (may we suggest a Hemingway Mojito?) and dancing to the music, and then celebrate the conch drop with your new friends at the bar. This is a popular event, so expect large crowds and a good time! Get there early- no reservations are available.
Key Lime Drop
Kick off 2023 at beloved Sunset Pier with their massive New Year's Eve celebration. The party will start at 9PM, right on the water! "Come Together" for New Year’s Eve with The Beatle Band. There will be a complimentary champagne toast along with the annual Key Lime Drop at midnight. Donations will benefit Mote Marine Laboratory's Center for Coral Reef Research & Restoration.
