If you're like me, then your first question is likely "what is a bight?" My first thought was "bite" (as in, sharks!) but "bight" actually refers to a bend in the shoreline and the wide harbor that results from it. The Key West Historic Seaport's original name was Key West Bight Marina. Hence, "Bight" Before Christmas!

The events that make up "Bight" Before Christmas vary widely but are all fun and festive! Each year, there's an terrific turnout.

There are opportunities for Pet Pictures with Santa hosted by The All Animal Clinic, with proceeds going to benefit the Boys & Girls Club. Snap a cute photo of your pet with St. Nick! Find the event at the 16’ Nautical Christmas Tree on the Harbor Walk of Lights at William St! Hometown holiday parades are also a part of the event. These always feature creative floats and appearances by Santa! A variety of other events, including boat parades, tree trimming parties, and more, also take place.

On Saturday, December 18, guests can enjoy the Conch Republic Seafood “Holiday Classic Car Show,” which is free to attend and always features awesome cars. See classic cars from every era decked out for the holidays! Guests are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy as a part of a toy drive for the Monroe County Domestic Abuse Shelter.

The centerpiece of the celebration, of course, is the Harbor Walk of Lights, which is a nautical-themed light display along the water. It honors the maritime history of the area and is open to guests wanting to walk and admire the decorations. It covers the seawall past Greene St, William St, and Margaret St, down to K.W. Ferry Terminal. Catch it every evening through News Years!

And that's just the beginning! Find all of the events and activities included in this awesome celebration at https://keywestchristmas.org/
