"Bight" Before Christmas 2021

November 29, 2021

Key West throws awesome parties year round. Winter is no exception. For the holiday season, visitors seeking an abundance of family-friendly holiday fun should check out "Bight" Before Christmas.

If you're like me, then your first question is likely "what is a bight?" My first thought was "bite" (as in, sharks!) but "bight" actually refers to a bend in the shoreline and the wide harbor that results from it. The Key West Historic Seaport's original name was Key West Bight Marina. Hence, "Bight" Before Christmas!

The events that make up "Bight" Before Christmas vary widely but all sound fun and festive!

On Saturday, December 11, guests can enjoy the 30th annual Key West Lighted Boat Parade. Enjoy music starting at 6 PM with the parade of boats following at 8 PM. This is a terrific tropical tribute to the holiday season that you won't want to miss!

The centerpiece of the celebration is the Harbor Walk of Lights, which is a nautical-themed light display along the water. It honors the maritime history of the area and is open to guests wanting to walk and admire the decorations. It covers the seawall past Greene St, William St, and Margaret St, down to K.W. Ferry Terminal. Catch it every evening through News Years!

And that's just the beginning! Find all of the events and activities included in this awesome celebration at https://keywestchristmas.org/
